Wales in the rain, well thats what we got last weekend, and again this weekend back in Lancashire. The welsh game fair proved to be a bit testing to say the least. With the high winds and the non stop rain from Thursday to Saturday night it tested the most resillient of traders. The team behind the welsh did their best to keep the show on the road and many thanks to them for their efforts. It is a long journey down there and we stopped off at a wayside cafe called Friar Tucks on the A458 for a sausage butty and to let the dogs stretch their legs. All I can say if you pass this guy and need a brew then stop there, he makes a really good cup of tea and a scrummy butty.
This weekend we should be heading north to Patterdale for the Ullswater Country Fair, this is one of our favourite shows, the people who run it are really friendly, and it's just a really good day out. A traditional country show lots going on all day lots of trade stands for people to browse round, a good mix of locals and tourists. I just hope it dries up a bit, we've had enough of this wet stuff and live in fear of getting webb feet or trench foot.
